Knap-In 2019: Learn How Native American Stone Tools Are Made!

March 8 – 9, 2019
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day

Moundville Archaeological Park and Museum

Moundville’s annual Knap-In will be held Friday and Saturday, March 8 – 9, 2019! Flint-Knappers will be on hand to show and explain their craft. Vendors of Native American craft items will be selling their handiwork, and Bill Skinner will be here to provide an Ancient Tools and Weapons range where visitors can learn about weapons and try throwing an atlatl themselves. Educational activities and make and take crafts will be available for children to participate in! Food will also be available for purchase as Mrs. Juanita and her Choctaw Kitchen join us to serve traditional Native American foods. And don’t forget to check out the Jones Archaeological Museum while you are here! We will have trained docents available who will be able to answer questions and discuss interesting facts about the museum with our visitors.
