Visitors are encouraged to come to the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum in their costumes on Saturday. October 29 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm and see the costumes from the year 1905 on display in the new Threaded Through History exhibit!
A new exhibit at the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum titled Threaded Through History opens on September 27, 2022 and runs through December 31, 2022.

The Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum’s Swimming Together exhibit is mentioned in the 2022 edition of Mosaic magazine! Mosaic is the annual magazine of the Alabama Humanities Alliance. They love a good story. Especially a story that gives a little context about what makes Alabamians, well, Alabamians.

Happy Fourth of July from The University of Alabama Museums! Each of our museums has its own holiday schedule so we’d like to help make it easier to know when they are closed and when they will be reopening.
The Swimming Together exhibit is up through August 27, 2022. Visit the Museum Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 – 4:30 to learn about swimming history in our community. See swim artifacts including UA Swim photos, a 1960s Summer Camp Lifeguard swimsuit, Red Cross swimmer pins, and a special, custom interactive display by The Fashion Archive (College of Human Environmental Sciences) titled Splash! 100 Years of Women’s Swimsuit Fashion, 1920s – 2020s. This exhibit is in partnership with Flow Tuscaloosa.

Hey #Tuscaloosa! The Transportation Museum’s next exhibit is about #swimming. We are reaching out to you for artifacts to display during the exhibition April – August 2022. We’re looking to feature small historic items like photos, membership cards, swim achievement badges, swim achievement cards, lifeguard whistle, goggles, etc.
